2　Principles of Point Selection in HSM

The following types of heat-sensitive acupoints are preferred in HSM:

1. Heat-sensitive acupoints along the channels of the affected body part.

2. Heat-sensitive acupoints that exhibit non-heat sensations or pain are preferred over soreness and distention.

3. Heat-sensitive acupoints that elicit relatively strong sensations.
